Westfield "We are Family" - Nicole Hooper-Marshall as Stylist!

In 2009, Westfield is coordinating a national marketing campaign entitled ‘We Are Family’ designed to provide enriching and engaging information for Australian mums, via in-centre seminars, a guide book and online content.

The campaign follows a highly successful 2008 Westfield ‘We Are Family’ program that largely featured a host of experts engaging with mums on a variety of subjects relevant and interesting to them.

Westfield embarked on this campaign following research indicating that mums perceive Westfield as a significant hub for them and other mums. So, to build on this insight, an opportunity was identified to further support this target audience with social and educational programs to be run in-centre, supported via a website, guidebook and editorial press.

As part of Westfield’s planning for the campaign, they have conducted extensive research to identify new key opinion makers and influencers in the family arena. As a result, Nicole Hooper-Marshall founder of Cedar Leaf has been identified as a partner to Westfield for the 2009 ‘We Are Family’ campaign – specifically surrounding the area of DIY fashion.

A range of topic areas have been developed for the campaign, which will be supported with new national research to be commissioned in early 2009, surveying mums to even better understand their needs. The areas of focus include, Shopping Survival, Mums Only, Entertainment, Technology, Family Management, Food and Early Learning.

“I have built and grown this fantastic business from conception and with it has come many, many fantastic opportunities for me both personally and professionally. Coming from a business development background means that I can’t stand still doing the same thing for too long.

I have two other businesses aside from Cedar Leaf which has kept me very busy indeed. As these are growing so rapidly I have decided now that I need more time to put a more engaged effort into these businesses and give someone else the opportunity to purchase a young growing business like Cedar Leaf in an ever increasing maternity and fashion market.

Our tips to wearing this style during your pregnancy:

Day Wear

If you are heading to a beach side cafe in the afternoon for a cup of rose herbal tea or a cool glass sparkling spring water, then keep it simple. At this time of the day it's as simple as throwing on your dress, adding a few colourful bangles (to the opposite arm of the shoulder strap), a huge raffia hat, some metallic sandals (perhaps gladiator sandals as pictured below and are coming soon to Cedar Leaf), and to complete the outfit a relaxed Not Rational bag.

Evening

Make the evening effortless by keeping accessories to a minimum but using them for maximum impact. Try a floral corsage or a beautiful broach pinned to the shoulder strap of the dress - positioned right in the hollow of your shoulder. Also, add simple earrings, one feature bracelet or a necklace wrapped around your wrist a few times (on the opposite side of the strap), sensible heels and a stand out clutch like the Opera Clutch by Rachael Ruddick.You can even try including a brightly coloured or stand out belt positioned underneath your bust area for added impact.

Post Pregnancy Tip

If you are wearing a fitted dress and are carrying a little more weight than usual, then use shape wear.
